Story

On the 19th June, 6 rowing crews from Cambridge and Oxford university will race across the English Channel to raise money for cancer research.

The English Channel is the pinnacle of ocean rowing in the UK. The distance from England to France is 21miles. It is well known for being one of the most challenging stretches of water in the world.

The challenging race will start at Shakespeare Beach in Dover and will finish when the rower steps onto French sand, after 5 hours of intense rowing.

First and Third Trinity Boat Club have a long tradition of producing rowers with the mental and physical stamina required to excel in such events. Despite the pain, exhaustion and arduous conditions we firmly believe we will be the crew to win this event to top all events. One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime which is why we have chosen to put the event on in aid of Cancer Research UK. We hope that you are able to help this fantastic cause. See our websites for further information regarding the race. -- http://www.thechannelrace.org -- http://www.firstandthird.org --
