My story

+++++STOP PRESS+++++(Reuters, London 1 June 2009). British expedition to conquer 3 Peaks of Yorkshire a success. Twenty five miles of rugged terrain & 3 big hills proved no match for three determined MP Directors. Challenge completed in 12 hours 50 minutes at 8.25pm. Expedition leader Stu 'Hillary' Packham said, "We couldn't have done it without the incentive of all the people supporting us with donations. Thank you very much." (Message complete).

We did warn you we'd be back!!!

After the considerable (and surprising) success of our lard shifting efforts in early 2008 & the huge generosity showed by our friends & family, the Fat Directors (Steve Rutherford, Rutesh Shah & Stuart Packham) return as promised, for the big sequel.

To ensure this second chapter is more Empire Strikes Back than Grease 2, we've decided to up the ante & add a greater degree of difficulty to our fundrasing effort. We'll be taking on the infamous 3 Peaks in North Yorkshire.

Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough & Whernside are the three highest mountains in Yorkshire & are connected by a 24 mile trail starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. On a hopefully sunny 30 May 2009 the three of us will set out to conquer all three in a day....or die trying!!!

Now you wouldn't expect that two Cockneys who don't have passports & a proud Lancastrian/Black Country/Aylesburian/Balhamite/anything-but-ruddy-Yorkie would be doing this just to look at some rugged scenery & to share unintelligable grunts with the locals were it not for the fact there was a good cause involved.

We'll be raising money for the Florence Nightingale Hospice in Buckinghamshire. This is a genuinely fantastic organisation which provides support to people at very difficult times in their lives. It receives very little in government funding & your generosity will really make a difference.

We'll be using Justgiving to help us again this time.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

You know what happens next. Get your money out or we email you at indecently frequent intervals to make you feel guilty.

Thanks for listening.

Steve, Stu & Rutesh.
