Dear All

From April 9th – 16th , Father Paul Watson, Director of Maryvale Institute in Birmingham and a group of staff including myself will be trekking 110km through the North of Spain to Santiago de Compostella, an ancient pilgrim route to the site of the remains of Saint James, brother of the New Testament gospel writer Saint John.

We are doing this in an effort to raise money for the Maryvale Institute. The money raised will be used in two ways:

 to help students from the Third World and countries where Christians are persecuted

 to help with the upkeep of the Institute for the direct benefit of the students

I am telling you this as I wish to take this opportunity to ask you to consider donating to this project and/or sponsoring me, or indeed us!  This is the first time we have undertaken this sort of event and some of us are not as young, or as slim, or as fit, as we used to be, so it will be a real challenge. We aim to walk the 110km in 5 days.
