SMA UK is a national charity supporting anyone affected by spinal muscular atrophy, a rare genetic, neuromuscular condition that causes muscle weakness and loss of movement. We offer support and information and advocate on issues important to the SMA Community.

Story

Thanks for visiting our page and apologies for the shameless tone of the fundraising request below, but...

As many of you know, Ems and my daughter, Georgia, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and died just over a year ago.  She would have been two years old on May 4th.

To celebrate her birthday and raise money and awareness for the Jennifer Trust, a group of friends will be walking 15 miles on May 2nd. This will be no mean feat as training has been non existent...

The credit crunch is affecting us all, but especially small charities like the Jennifer Trust. Their outreach support service helped us magnificently but is currently under threat due to lottery funding expiring. The mind boggles at the thought of affected families trying to cope without their invaluable support.

Please help us by digging deep and supporting this outreach service as well as research into an eventual cure to this fatal genetic condition.

With love and huge thanks,

Nick, Emma and the Team
