Brooks Brighton 10K · 26 October 2008

We provide FREE hospice care for adult patients and support for loved ones. Some NHS funding is received but the majority of our income is donated by individuals, families, groups, companies and charitable trusts. Thank you for all of the kind support you are able to give us!

Story

I was challenged when I mentioned raising money for a hospice .. why not put the money into cancer research ? or spend money on those who still have a chance ?  I thought long and hard about this (which might explain why this has taken so long… )

I did have a list of fiscal reasons  for  raising  money for a hospice over research… however, something Phu said to me stuck with me… that is we run, we raise.. for something that  is personal something that we can believe in, this sentiment renders everything else irrelevant.

The St John’s Hospice, is very well known in the Wirral, and for those who don’t know, this is where my mother passed away earlier  this year. My mother was only there for a couple of weeks,  the care and attention the  hopsice  gave both my parents was second to none, my dad practically lived there during that time, all the staff apart from nurses are volunteers.  St John’s hospice is only partially funded by local council so they do their own fund raising, however I think every bit helps… so if you are so inclined please donate as much as you want.

We will be running the 10K on the 16th November 2008 at the Brighton Brooks run

please come and cheer us on or pick us (me) up off the ground if you can make it...

who are we?....
well Mr Martin Ho... this was his original idea.
Mr Phu Me... who is doing more miles than his car!
Miss Linda Truong... who has been supplying the sweets... (just like paradise!)
and last and very least... Me... MD...who needs more training and less sweets.
