Story
Well, the big day is finally over!
I survived, although I do admit it seemed much tougher than last time. The heavy leg feeling set in a few miles earlier, but I managed to grit my teeth and push on through the last 3 miles and finish in 4hrs 28mins 29secs - 5 minutes faster than two years ago! Phew!
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me and especially to those that managed to fight the crowds and the rain (and london transport...) to cheer me on.
The costume was a roaring success (apart from a handful of shouts out for Robin Hood, "the elf" (??!) and the Leprechaun) and the kids were quite cute when they cheered on Peter Pan.. Photos will hopefully be uploaded shortly for public ridicule.
So a big thank you all round. I'm very glad we've raised so much money for SPARKS (they are truly lovely people) and I think that if there is a third time, I definitely won't be thinking about it for a while yet. Gosh do my legs ache!!!!
