Story
<p>There's a viral status update going around on facebook asking people to change their picture to their favourite childhood cartoon character. Recently this has changed to claim it's to benefit the NSPCC, but it's not clear how.</p>
<p>Why not actually do something and donate just £2 (or more if you can spare it) to the NSPCC this festive season? While you're at it, why not put the name of your cartoon character in the donation comments</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 16px; color: #000000;">The NSPCC's <a style="text-decoration: none; color: #00ab39;" href="http://www.nspcc.org.uk/what-we-do/about-the-nspcc/our-approach/our-approach_wda72244.html">vision</a> is to end cruelty to children in the UK. <p>Check out their website to find out the good work they do: <a href="http://www.nspcc.org.uk/">http://www.nspcc.org.uk/</a></p>
<p>The FB status message everyone has been using is something like this:</p>
<p>"<span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: #333333;">Change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon </span><span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: #333333;">character from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same, </span><span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: #333333;">for the NSPCC. Until Christmas,<span class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline;"> there should be no human </span></span><span style="font-size: 13px; color: #333333;">faces on Facebook, but an invasion of memories. This is a campaign to </span><span style="font-size: 13px; color: #333333;">stop violence against children and show support. Donate £2 to the NSPCC here </span><span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #333333;"><span style="cursor: pointer; color: #3b5998; text-decoration: none;"><a style="cursor: pointer; color: #3b5998; text-decoration: none;" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.justgiving.com/fbcartoon" target="_blank">http://www.justgiving.com/</a></span></span><span style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #333333;"><a style="cursor: pointer; color: #3b5998; text-decoration: none;" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.justgiving.com/fbcartoon" target="_blank">fbcartoon</a> "</span></p>

<p>If for some reason you don't trust this page to be a genuine JustGiving page, or don't trust JustGiving, why not head to the NSPCC's own page and donate £2 there? If you don't trust the link I've provided above, why not just google for NSPCC and find it yourself?</p>
