Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The one on the far right is me - no idea who the other three are ;-)
As the Opal/FC United Charity abseil falls on my 50th Birthday and I have recently been inspired by the cliffs of Stockholm I thought it would be an ideal way to spend my birthday and therefore sidestep the possibility of any other celebrations organised by well meaning friends and relatives.
The abseil is down any one of a number of Opal's own buildings at various sites around the uk
I have opted for the Leeds abseil as it's the highest at 250 feet and I like a tough away fixture. Check the picture (click under picture1).
Any money raised will be split 50/50 between Opal's South OMO project to provide clean water for remote communities in Ethiopia and the FC United of Manchester Development Fund - both worthy causes slaking a thirst in their own way.
For non - FC people reading this the Dev fund is attempting to raise £500k to unlock grant and loan funding to build a community stadium, not only a regular home for FC, and affordable football, but facilities for the whole community and access to them for those who are marginalised.
Please give if you want to.
