We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page!

We don't all have boots yet, some of us would rather get a taxi over walking 10 minutes, others are trawling the Internet for a reassuring sound bite that tells us "there are people not as fit as YOU who completed this challenge" ....

We are united though by the desire to give it a damn good go (plus the intrigue of the sleeper train to Glasgow).

We are raising money for Hearing Dogs: a cause that transforms the lives of people who are profoundly or completely deaf. Like the gorgeous Luke, a Cockapoo at my work at the hospital, who is loved by us all but especially his owner and nurse Carol. They alert their owners to sounds others take for granted and bring independence, confidence and companionship to those they help. These clever loyal and lovable dogs have also saved lives.

We'd be really grateful if you would donate to our cause - we'll need the motivation when we're hiking up them hills in the middle of the night!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you very much!

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
