Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I felt privileged when Fliss called to ask me of I would do a special photo shoot for her whilst she was going through Chemo. I was stunned by her bravery and felt the pressure of how important this shoot truly was!

We had a wonderful time doing the photos, we really did! Fliss totally embraced it and I think she even surprised herself with how relaxed and at ease she was in her own skin. It was liberating for both of us and I am so very proud of her. Please do show your support by sharing this album and helping Fliss raise awareness of breast cancer. She wrote some beautiful words and is a beautiful soul- Here they are...

"Dancing away like a loon at my friends wedding, a few too many glasses of fizz and boogieing on the dance floor with my husband till our feet hurt. Laughing - that's what we do a lot of. That was when I felt the lump. little did I know how much our lives would change from that day on.

'Breast cancer', the dr said to me. Me? ME? I couldn't quite grasp the information. It happens to other people, not me. Suddenly my life was in someone else's hands and I wasn't in control of anything. Rather than enjoying my fun filled active life with my 1yr old and 4 yr old I was now spiralling out of control and into a life full of things that didn't seem to fit in with my life as I knew it. This 'thing' was quickly eating into 'my time'.

Appointments, specialists, radiographers, biopsy's, needles (hundreds of needles!), results, constant supplies of pain killers, medication, pain, hair loss, tears, parking meters, temperature checking, immune boosting injections in my stomach, chemical tastes and smells, bloods, side effects, steady flow of well wishes. The list goes on ..

So 4 months on, 6 chemo's in and 1 left to go, surgery next month followed by 6 weeks of radiotherapy - I wanted to do something. Make others aware of their bodies and to check themselves. Make a statement and raise money for research into cancer. I struggled to come to terms with my hair loss and changes to my body so I joined forces with Looking Glass Photography to help raise awareness and hopefully some money for this cause.

Please please check yourselves - it could save your life xx"

Fliss xx
