Story
For the Third year running we'll be participating in the Heroes Run Brighton whilst clad head to toe in lycra all for Felix! So please join us to help raise money and awareness for our 'Superhero' Felix and Neuroblastoma.
Felix's Story to date...
In February 2009 Felix White was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, despite aggressive frontline treatment including chemotherapy, surgery, stem cell transplant, radiation and immunotherapy, Neuroblastoma is extremely aggressive and unfortunately, Felix relapsed in Jan 2011. Sadly the relapse treatment options available in the UK are very limited and ultimately lead to palliative care. After much research and discussion, Felix and his family have moved to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where there is much more hope and options. Devastatingly 3 weeks ago doctors discovered a new tumour deep within the brain which was bleeding, Felix has since undergone emergency brain surgery to successfully remove it, and started more chemotherapy. Meanwhile Matt, Colleen, doctors at CHOP and Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) in New York (specialists in brain relapse) are planning the best treatment going forward, all of which will cost in excess of $1,000,000.00...
Felix is a lovely, smiley, energetic 6 year old with a huge zest for life, who also has truly incredible 'Superhero' treatment/surgery recovery powers and continues to defy all around him, especially medical experts.
Felix needs your help to keep him there as long as possible...
