The Stroke Association - Thames Bridges Bike Ride 2011 · 22 May 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello!

What am I doing???!! I thought this when I went out on my first long bike ride (not just to my mum and dads and back!) but now i'm actually enjoying the training/cycling, with the exception of hills! I really want to do this - prove to myself i'm not that unfit and can put my mind to do something if I want to! Plus it's a great cause and I will be doing it with some fab people from work who have really motivated me. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thanku for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Just a little info on the charity I am cycling for:

Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the UK. The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
