Story
Welcome to the JustGiving Page of of the Ferry Dodgers.
At 0310am on Thursday 2nd September 2010, the Ferry Dodgers began the epic channel swim. We rotated our swims over the course of 13 hours, 15 minutes reaching the rocky coastline of Cap Gris Nez at 1625pm later the same day.
The challenge was one of the most difficult we as individuals and as a team had ever taken part in.
Thank you for all of your donations so far, you can continue to donate towards our three chosen charities here at Just Giving.

In September 2010, the team will be undertaking one of the most challenging open water swims in the world. We will be swimming in relay across the English Channel, leaving Folkstone and landing somewhere near to Cap Gris Nez in the north of France.
The six team members will swim in a relay across the channel, each taking turns to swim for an hour before switching. Depending on our speed and the tides, we are likely to get at least two hour-long swims in each.
The swim can range from 21 miles to 29 miles depending on the tides and as per our team name, 'The Ferry Dodgers', we will undoubtedly pass through what are reported to be the world's busiest shipping lanes at least once.
We are doing this to try and raise as much money as possible for charity.
We have created a website at http://www.ferry-dodgers.co.uk/ which shows up to date information about the swim along with an introduction to the team and details of our training regime.
