Story
Hi,
We're raising money for Enham who do amazing work helping people with disabilities find, apply for and succeed in work. Enham add incredible value to many many lives.
My sister is mentally handicapped and over the years I’ve seen how finding work has given her purpose, direction and helped her build a mature independence.
We’ve spent a lot of time talking with Enham. Their passion and belief is matched only by the joy we've seen in the lives they’ve changed.
In May 2011 I was the stereotypical technology male; significantly overweight (17.5 stone), rarely exercised, worked all the time. Between May and September 2011, I have transformed my life. I have got to a little over 14 stone, sorted my diet, learned a vast amount about nutrition and a great deal about how to exercise. By September I decided I wanted a goal and a triathlon (The Dorney SuperSprint) seemed like a suitably challenging activity. In doing a public event, I decided I had to do it for charity and that charity had to be Enham. And it wasn't long after that Alex got roped in too...She and I have been training hard for this.
Preparing for this fund raising event has become an obsession. The journey to being able to do this event has been life changing. Along the way we’ve had mishaps, frustrations and some great success too. Either way we're a lot fitter than when we started.
Please consider giving as generously as you can. Enham is not just a charity we like. We know their people well and the work they do has huge positive impact on people’s lives.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks
Paul and Alex Field
