<p class="Default" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The Glasgow Ophthalmology Revision Course for finals is now in its third year.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This year it takes place on </span><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Saturday 15th January 2011</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> from<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> 9am till 5pm</strong> at the <strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">St Andrew’s Building, Gibson Street, Lecture theatre 213</strong>. Attendance at the course costs <strong>£20</strong><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> and there are a maximum of 8<strong>0</strong> places </span>(first come first served). <p class="Default" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The course features a run through of </span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">basic ocular anatomy, common cases for finals, how to examine the visual system and then has 5 mock OSCE stations where you will get to practice measuring visual acuity, testing visual fields and cranial nerves, testing eye movements, assessing pupils and using the direct ophthalmoscope in small groups with supervision by ophthalmologic specialists. All of this is followed by a summary quiz to assess your knowledge and an open session where you can clear up any confusion and bring along EMQ's for discussion.</span></span></p>

<p class="Default" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.85pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">All of the course fees are donated to the Fiona Dolan Fund which was set up in memory of a former specialist registrar in Ophthalmology. It aims to<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> </strong><strong><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">contribute to the improvement of eye health in developing countries by supporting</span></strong><strong><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";"> </span></strong>trained eye professionals to travel to developing countries to improve eye health through a range of activities including cataract and trachoma surgery camps.</span></span></p>
