Help us support and promote an amazing charity - Horseback UK - that uses equine therapy in a rural environment to rehabilitate soldiers who have suffered as a result of their service.
On leisurely weekend trail rides through Moray forests and farmland the idea of a grander expedition was born. This fundraising adventure is now a 2011 reality for the Moray cowgirls and their support crew.
Fuelled by a pub lunch at The Kimberley Inn at Findhorn on Sunday 3rd July, the cowgirls will navigate over 120 miles of highland trails from Moray to west coast. Nights will be spent at pubs, bothies, hostels and camping wild using bare essential kit carried by pack pony Breagha. The end destination is The Old Forge pub at Inverie on Knoydart peninsula, mainland Britain's remotest pub - only accessible by boat, foot ...or horse! With the last stretch of the ride crossing 18 miles of munros, the cowgirls are going to be challenged by what the wilds of Scotland can throw at them. Let alone the saddlesore caused by two weeks on horseback!
