Story
To raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, I took on the challenge of doing a 165ft free-fall abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge (which took taking place on Sunday 13th September 2009.) For those of you that don't know much about Cystic Fibrosis, it is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease which affects over 8000 people in the UK. Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food. Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis. Each week, three young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis! Around half of the CF population can expect to live over 35 years, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live even longer however, there is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, which is one of the reasons that it is important to donate and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust relies on the support of the Cystic Fibrosis community and the public to continue its work in research, campaigning, support and care for those with Cystic Fibrosis so please please donate! You should be able to look at a couple of photos and my video from this page, although I apologise for no sound on the video, youtube copyrighted it! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
