<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>In summer 2011 I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to&nbsp;Masaka in Uganda for&nbsp;a month&nbsp;with a great charity called East African Playgrounds. <a href="http://www.eastafricanplaygrounds.org/">http://www.eastafricanplaygrounds.org/</a></p> <p>Whilst there me and a group of like minded volunteers will be building a fantastic new playground&nbsp;for the local children to give them a much needed chance to get away from the stresses and pressures of everyday life. Play is an essential part of child development&nbsp;in many ways and although a playground&nbsp;won't change the world, it will make a huge difference to the lives of these children. This project is designed to complement the work of&nbsp;all the excellent organisations that assist with people's basic needs, by giving children something fun that we would take for granted. We will be working closely with the community, using locally sourced materials and&nbsp;involving the local people in decisions every step of the way, encouraging a sense of ownership as well as bringing people together.</p> <p><strong>Every penny raised will go towards the playground itself</strong> paying for materials as well as extra labour, providing jobs for the locals. By making a donation, however small, you will be helping to make a huge difference to so many people.
