I chose this charity because our friend Alan (a non smoker) recently died shockingly young, at the age of 30, of a cancer none of us knew anything about.  Alan was an exceptionally generous and gentle person, passionate about plants and wildlife.  He was the Essex WildlifeTrust volunteer warden of Grays Chalk Quarry for many years.
