Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I will be running the Flora London Marathon on 26th April this year in support of Leukaemia Research. I have a number of reasons to support this particular Charity:
My lovely, lovely Dad, Nat Baird, received treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia for a number of years prior to having Cancer from which he sadly died in 2000. In September 2008, my husband's uncle, John Maycock, passed away after a year of fighting a rare form of Leukaemia. John was well known as a fun-loving, mischievous, party animal!
I'm also supporting this cause because my friend Rachel has a brother who, just before Christmas 2008, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Will is 22 and of the 200 cases per year, it is quite rare in his age group. He is being treated in Bristol and has volunteered to receive a new treatment which will ultimately help improve the treatment of future patients in this age group!
I'd like to raise as much as possible to support the crucial work undertaken by Leukaemia Research. Please sponsor me if you can and I'm sure you will join me in wishing Will and all other Leukaemia patients good health on their way to a full recovery.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much,
Fiona xx
PS: My official Leukaemia Research Banana Army running shirt hasn't arrived yet so I have had to improvise for the photo! Sorry.
