Ripple Effect is creating a wave of change in rural Africa. Our farmers learn, grow and sell more, releasing the potential in their land and lives. Then they pass the knowledge on, creating a wave of change across rural Africa.

Story

Hello everyone This year my friend Sue and I are walking for cows! We had already selected this charity but I must say that haivng spent a little time in Africa recently, I am really glad we did..... Send a Cow give a cow (sometimes a whole farmyard) to a community in Africa and train them how to use the animal. A cow will support a family in many ways giving them not only food but also fertiliser which helps them to grow crops. This gives them better health and nutrition and a means of making a living. It particularly supports women giving them a means of generating income, independence and a role in the community. It supports their children by giving them better nutrition and money for education. Animals and knowledge are passed on to other families in the community. Despite what it says at the bottom of this we have a specific target for our donations which is a community in Uganda. We are walking 15 miles one day over the next Bank Holiday weekend (depends on weather - surely you don't expect us to get wet). Our target this year is £2,000 between us. This will provide a whole farmyard! Please support us through the JustGiving website or, if you do not want to do that, you can give your donation to me. Thank you very much. And love from Fiona
