Hello!

Done in 4hrs 51mins!!!!!

I am training hard to try and complete the marathon in under 4 hours, but I need your help for an even harder task..... I need to raise £1000 or more.

***Because people have been so generous so far, I have actually reached my £1000 target, and so I am increasing this to £2000! Thanks to everybody who has donated so far....it really does mean alot! ***

As most of you know my dad has been diagnosed with MSA (multiple system atrophy) a degenerative neurological disorder which effects his balance coordination and speech. The Sarah Matheson Trust is a charity dedicated to informing sufferers and their families about the effects of MSA and what may happen in the future. Without the SMA me and my family would know far less about my dad’s disease and would be in the dark as to what to expect to happen to my dad in the future. They provide support in the form of counselling and advice to families like mine and for sufferers with such a horrible and life changing disease.

The reason I decided to run the marathon was so the charity can continue to provide much needed support and information to other sufferers and increase the public awareness of such a horrible disease.

I would like you to think how my dad feels. Imagine taking away everyday skills such as clear speech, walking, putting a key in a door, carrying a cup of tea, changing the TV channel....all of these things and many more my dad finds really difficult to do and eventually won't be able to do at all. For somebody who used to be so active and enjoy sport so much, I am doing this for him.

Please help me to raise as much money as possible for the SMT so they can continue to raise awareness for such a horrible disease. I need to raise £1000, but I am hoping to raise more than this, relying on the generosity of friends, family and other kind hearted people.

I will keep you up dated on how my training is progressing! Thanks very much for your support.

I RAN 16 MILES TODAY!! (21/03/09)... I think I will actaually be able to make it now!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
