Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We had heard of hospices and St Gemma's in particular but had not truly appreciated their value nor experienced them until our mother, Teresa, became ill. During her 19 month fight against cancer the care, compassion, and kindness given by all the team at St Gemma's supported not only mother but the whole family practically and emotionally, and that care for us all went on after she lost her fight on 6th November 2008.
Many were lucky to be loved and cherished by Teresa and enjoyed the warmth of her smile. We want her love of life to continue to shine on through us and our fundraising antics so the hospice team can continue to provide this invaluable service to the community.
In her memory - and by way of showing just how much all those we have loved and lost to cancer mean to us - This year on Saturday 13 June a team of fifteen 'Teresa's Tearaways' will be doing a 5 or 10 mile row at Windermere! So if you can why not come along and cheer us on but most importantly please sponsor us.
Sponsoring us will help other cancer sufferers get the chance to benefit from such a dedicated and wonderful organisation in the future. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us all: St Gemma's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks for your support and contributions, with love from the Gavin's, Taylor's, Cullen's, Hamer's, Kasher's, Gillett's, Abiss's, Larkin's & Gilbert's families & friends.
