We  took part in our first Marathon last year on a very hot day in Edinburgh.  We finished in 6 hours but the heat and the event running out of water at some points took its toll and many other people didn't finish. By the way we didn't look as good when we finished but made a quick recovery after a huge Italian meal and several glasses of wine! 

This year Kay and I (Jane is still injured from last time) are trying Brighton and are determined to finish nearer the 5 hour mark.
