Palace to Palace · 22 September 2013

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

This 45 mile charity bike ride challenge, from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, offers some of the best sights of any charity cycle ride. From the start line on the Mall, riders will set off alongside St. James’s Park towards Buckingham Palace, before heading for The River Thames.

Riders then pedal through Fulham and across Putney Bridge before entering Richmond Park where magnificent red and fallow deer roam free.Deer in Richmond Park - the Palace to Palace bike ride

Departing Richmond Park riders cycle towards Kingston-upon-Thames and cross back over the river into Bushey Park.  The route then continues on to Virginia Water and Egham before the final approach to Windsor Castle and the finish line at Royal Windsor Racecourse.

Up to 4,000 cyclists will be taking part as either individuals or as part of a team. Palace to Palace is aimed at cyclists over the age of 16 and of all abilities who want to take part in a challenging but fun event. Please note; only the Mall will be closed to traffic, so you must be confident to ride on open roads and follow the Highway Code at all times.
