Story
I'm very blessed. There's times when you think what you're going through is hurting you very deeply but really I know everything i've ever been through is nothing compared to what so many people go through every single day. Not only do they have to endure their own pain but the pain of seeing those they love suffer. Syria is one of the many places in the world that needs our help. We can't understand what the people of Syria go through every single day. Innocent men, women and children are dying. There are children who have lost their parents, imagine losing our parents? Subhan'Allah. and on top of that they are in a place of war and oppression all alone. The number of Syrian refugees has reached ONE MILLION... HALF OF WHICH ARE CHILDREN. The situation in Syria is now at the WORST it has ever been, in March alone over 200 people were killed every day as a result of the conflict.
A group of sisters have decided to climb Roseberry Topping which is 350m, we are climbing it 5 times within 24 hours (in'sha'Allah) on Thursday 20th June 2013. There is a mountain in Syria called An-Nusayriyah Mountains, Nabi Yunis is the highest peak which is 1,562m this is where the people of Syria go to hide out away from all the conflict.
Our intentions are only to please Allah SWT to help those who are being oppressed and to help those who are in need. Doesn't Allah SWT provide for us EVERY single day. The money we have, Allah SWT has blessed us with it, shouldn't we use to it please Him every opportunity we get, if we have the ability to do so. We must build for our akhirah and help our brothers and sisters all around the world.
What did the Prophet SAW say? "You do not truly believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself." Wouldn't we love to be helped in times of difficulty, wouldn't we love for our loved ones to be saved.
The Prophet SAW said: "Save yourself from hellfire by giving even half a date-fruit in charity." Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 2 Hadith 498
