In 2007 Barty Hills (Danger Bear) was diagnosed with a benign meningioma (brain tumour). He had to have an immediate craniotomy due to the size of the tumour, where the surgeons were able to debulk it, but not remove it completely. Since his recovery, Danger Bear set up the Flair Bears: a fun and exciting invitational rugby team, that competes in various tournaments to help raise awareness for brain tumours, and specifically Brainstrust and the work they do.
All donations will help Brainstrust directly as they offer great support to brain tumour sufferrers. They are able to provide expert advice to help guide all sufferers through their difficult journey of living with a brain tumour. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of UK children, and brain tumour charities are majorly underfunded. Therefore donations would be greatly appreciated and go a long way to help this worthy cause.
So, how you can help? Anyone can support the cause and donate on this page. You can come to watch us play, share a social media post, donate or dance with us. Whatever it is, just get involved, feel good about the cause and have lots of fun doing it. Keep up to date and follow us on:
