RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Our running trio consists of: lifeboat mechanic, Billy; and crew members Lucy & Ben.

Alongside our volunteer roles at Flint RNLI Lifeboat Station, where we are on call 24/7 to save lives -we have been training hard all year to reach our goal of running a Half Marathon. We decided to do this not only for our own fitness but to raise vital funds for the RNLI.

It costs around £385,000 a day to run the RNLI, all of which is genously donated by the public.

We will run our race in memory of Peter Bellis, Flint Lifeboat Treasurer for many years- also a keen runner.
