A little bit about SANDS

In the UK, 17 babies a day are stillborn or die within the first twenty eight days of life; a devastating bereavement for the parents and for their family and friends.

For over 25 years, SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) has offered support to parents and families whose lives are devastated by the death of their baby.

Today, SANDS provides sensitive and practical support for over 4,000 families every year through a national helpline, a UK network of groups run by bereaved parents, support leaflets, publications and a website (www.uk-sands.org).

SANDS also continues to play a key role in helping health professionals to improve the quality of care provided to bereaved parents.

The rise in SANDS public profile has led to a rapid increase in demand for SANDS services. The much needed funds that with your support you could help me raise will help to respond to that need.
