Story
Back in 1998 six statistical programmers had a dream; their dream was to raise money for Herts Air Ambulance. Then one day, in the summer of 2009, they received a message offering them a chance to fulfil their ambition, but to do so required taking their lives in their hands and jumping out of a plane (when airborne).
Despite having the odds stacked against them (Ben wimping out of a bungee jump, Kristiina being over the 15 stone weight limit, Rob being a student, etc.) they signed up. Now, on the 3rd October they will be jumping out of a plane (with an instructor strapped to their backs) somewhere over Cambridge.
Why we want to skydive:
· Raise money for Herts Air Ambulance. · Make sure that skydiving is not as challenging as Programming/Stats. · Fulfil our childhood promises. · Show how tough we are. · Find out who can hit the ground first. · Prove that people can fly as fast as birds, planes, spaceships, etc. ;-)To make it even more challenging, each of us is going to try one of the following during our 1 minute free fall:
· Burpee challenge. · Take a bird's-eye view photo of our office building. · 100 somersaults (without throwing up). · Write a poem (*Andy style). · Sing the Titanic theme song. · Options are endless.. leave your own ideas of challenges when sponsoring us! ;-)Please sponsor us on this website and help us reach our ambition of raising at least £1200 for Herts Air Ambulance!
