It's a couple of years since my last major fundraising campaign - abseiling down a viaduct. This time the activity has changed but the cause has stayed the same - Ashgate Hospice.

There are very few people living in Chesterfield who don't know of someone who has benefited from the wonderful care given by the hospice. It ought to be a scandal that they have to raise £2.3m this year just to keep the place functioning; the current economic crisis makes it likely that financially things are unlikely to get easier.

Chesterfield's mayor, Peter Barr, has nominated Ashgate Hospice as his main charity and I'd like to do my bit too..................with your help.

Those that know me are aware I'm quite clumsy so it seemed appropriate to tackle something with a hint of danger.

I'll be hang gliding in the Peak District the last weekend in October.................please help me raise as much as possible before I take to the air !
