My story
As you may know back in 2010 shortly after the passing of my father, Caroline and myself lost our first child, Austin. We still live with the pain of this loss, but are moving on with our lives and now have a beautiful daughter in Emilia Rose.
As you know I am a little on the heavy side, so in order to lose weight and pay a small tribute to Austin I will be swimming in all 5 of the Great Swim Series this year;
* 26th May Great London Swim (Docklands - 1mile)
* 16th June Great East Swim (Suffolk - 2 miles)
* 23rd June Great North Swim (Windermere - 1 miles)
* 1st July Great Manchester Swim (Salford Quays - 1 mile)
* 25th Aug Great Scottish Swim (Strathclyde - 2miles)
I am looking to raise a minimum of £100 per event (so £500 in total) for Shine Charity who provide specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional health and social care staff.
