Done, dusted, another 26.2 miles in the bag, not the time I originally trained for, the Achilles injury suffered 5 weeks prior to marathon day scuppered that, but crossing that finish line on The Mall for my respected beneficiary is the main priority and cross it I did in little over 4h 20m....they'll be other marathons to achieve PB's.
All in all big time thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported me and offered much needed encouragement when I needed it most and lets not forget your donations to this wonderful cause that helps Anthony Nolan Trust do exactly what it says on the tin...TAKING BACK LIVES FROM LEUKAEMIA!
Donations can still be received for several more weeks. Thanks again x
Hey respected people, big time thanks and appreciation for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having lost my father to cancer I am once again back, all in respect of me father, to take on the little 26.2 mile fun run through the streets of ye olde London town from Greenwich to the Mall, this time running, raising awareness and reaping in the pennies for Anthony Nolan Trust.
How little it takes...
£15 is the average cost of a blood sample kit used for taking a donor’s blood sample for testing to determine if they are a lifesaver.
£50 is the average cost for a potential life saver’s blood sample to be tissue typed and identified as a potential life saver.
£125 is the average cost of recruiting and maintaining a donor on our register which increases the chance of finding a bone marrow match for patients.
Please take a little time to log into Anthony Nolan Trust website for more information.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please help me raise the pennies and I'll take care of the 26.2 miles.
Thanks again, see you at The Mall on 25th April 2010 :o)
