Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am looking to take part in this year’s Yoga Thon, 2012 is a very special year for London with the Olympics happening in Great Britain. I have chosen to support the Rainforest Foundation because of the work it does to support securing land from destruction. Time is running out, an acre of rainforest is lost every second. Some facts to help us understand the importance of forest reservation:

1.       Rainforest are home to 50 million indigenous forest people

2.       80% of the world’s poorest people depend on forests

3.       Tropical deforestation is a major contributor to climate change

4.       Rainforests destruction makes 50,000  wildlife species extinct every year

The Forest Foundation have a very generous offer from a donor, this donor has agreed to match every donation we make towards this appeal, so for every pound we raise we will double it!.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

The Rainforest Foundation UK aims to protect tropical rainforests by working with those who know the forest best – indigenous peoples and traditional forest dwellers. By supporting them, we're taking a major step forward in the battle to combat climate change.
