Story

It is ten years on 22nd November 2013 since 33 year old Colin Smith lost his life to a rare tumour type, Pseodomyxoma Peritonei. A one in a million disease which at the time, couldn't be treated in Scotland. Despite undergoing extensive surgery at the Christie Hospital in Manchester,Colin died less than five months after diagnosis, which he received on July 1st 2003, his 33rd birthday . A son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend, he has never been forgotten.Ten years on, it is time to once again remember Colin, raise awareness of this terrible disease and raise funds for Pseodomyxoma Survivor and the Christie Hospital. Colin's sister Salena will undertaking various challenges, including the Tinsel Trailtroopers run on November 24th 2013, 5 mile run on 30/11/13, Great Winter run in Edinburgh on 11/01/2014 and Great Manchester Run in May 2014, with long-time friend Amanda McEwan, Salena may also to get tattoos of the Pseodomyxoma Survivor and Christie logos if enough funds are raised!! Please play Paul McCartney's 'Blackbird' on 22nd November 2013 and Beatles 'Here comes the Sun' on 1st July 2014 in remeberance of Colin who met his greatest challenge with courage and dignity.  A contientious  and active individual who loved music and film,  it is still difficult for those who knew him to comprehend what happened to Colin. His strength of character shone through  in his last difficult months. Always remembered, always loved, never forgotten. Thank you for your support x x
