Mum was taken into Barnley Hospice in the New Year. She was suffering from intense pain and the team at the Hospice were patient, kind and most of all medically equipped to help by finding a balance of treatment to tackle the pain. It took three weeks, during which time she got worse before she got better. She was always kept comfortable and happy - the staff and volunteers were fantastic! When the pain relief was sorted her apetite returned. She looked forwad to meal times, bubble baths and sharing a joke or two. She had been very worried about going into the Hospice initially, but when she left she said she would recommend it to anyone and wouldnt be worried about returning.

Unfortunately the return visit was sooner than we had expected or hoped. Mum struggled after another blast of radiotherapy. Once again the Hospice staff and volunteers kept her spirits up and did everything they could to give her whatever she needed. Throughout Mum's care they were considerate towards the needs of the whole family. We could never thank them enough for the care and support they gave us all.
