I am participating in the 10 km midnight walk around Manchester in aid of St. Ann's Hospice.

Earlier this year I lost my mother to ovarian cancer. We were very fortunate to have her admitted to such a welcoming place where she spent her last days being treated with endless compassion and dignity. Not only did the hospice treat my mother as a human being but they were also there for the entire family. For this I am very grateful and would like to help give something back.

It costs around £9 million a year to run St. Ann's Hospice. They receive 35% of their funding from the local Primary Care Trust which means they need to raise over £16,000 every day themselves to keep their doors open. This money is raised through voluntary contributions, legacies, Hospice Lottery, fundraising, and trading activities, which amount to £6 million a year.
