Story
Thank you for visiting my site to raise money for Cancer Research.
In September 2006 i made my first ambitious attempt to walk the Pennine Way in 9 days straight. Attempting to walk well over 9 marathons in a row and carrying a pack weighing about 15 kgs, this entailed tackling some of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Northumberland's biggest hills.
My first attempt at this challenge was unsuccessful. On day 6, after 140 miles, my knee gave up. In response to this, I am embarking on a second attempt in June 2008 with stronger knees and armed with the knowledge i have built during this 'practice run'.
I am doing this for my Dad, who we lost in May 2006. He was a great man, who served his community, lived by principles and loved his family. He strongly supported 'people power' and I'm sure he is watching keenly to see the money we raise collectively make a postive impact.
Dad was brave till the end. His courage, fortitude and patience were unbelieveable. I hope I can be as determined and relentless in my task.
