Paris Marathon 2008 · 6 April 2008 ·

We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

Story

My brother's wife, Carrie lost her fight with Bowel Cancer last year aged 37. Through it all she was brave, strong, indomitable, and always full of life.  I had planned to run the Paris marathon as a small tribute to her wonderful spirit. Sadly, I have suffered a bad achilles strain and am forced to withdraw from Paris, but have entered Edinburgh on 25th May instead. I am told that Edinburgh has some nice dowwnhill stretches which should help me ! Thank-you in advance for bearing with me.

Please feel free to set me a tough challenge - I am hoping to complete the Edinburgh marathon in under 4 1/2 hours which given my age will present me with a very tough challenge !

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.

It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support,

David
