Like most crazy ideas, it started with a conversation down the pub. To my amazement even after the effects of alcohol had worn off the team still wanted to take part. The crazy idea is that, as a team, to walk 100km (that’s 60 miles in old money) in under 30 hours along the South Downs Way. Yes, that’s right, each of us have to start and finish as a team and walk the 100km together. So here we are taking part in Trailwalker 2008. The team is me, Nikki, Phil, Carl, Gareth, Daniel and Paula (four walkers and two support crew).
After much consideration and dismissing team names that were too offensive (thank you Daniel), or would take too much explaining; one suggestion being ‘the hills are alive with the sound of morse-sick!’, we decided on the name of ‘Midnight Ramblers’. We are attempting to raise £6000 for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust, so please help us in our challenge by donating some of your hard earned money. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Oxfam Trailwalker will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Nikki & Phil, Carl & Paula, Gareth, Daniel. Now you can visit our blog and keep an eye on our progress! http://formalhandshake.blogspot.com/
