Story

Benefit Night For Steve Brown
With Forty4 and Special Guest, Blues Boy Dan
Sat 29th October 2011, Liverpool Marina (doors: 7:30pm, show: 8.00pm)

Fresh from their recent appearances at the Birmingham International Jazz & Blues and the Colne R&B festivals, Rhythm & Groove Blues band, Forty4, will be performing on a benefit night in support of their Bass guitarist, Steve Brown, who is currently battling lung cancer and undergoing a lengthy course of gruelling treatment. Proceeds from the night will be used to benefit Steve and to support The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

With a musical spectrum covering Electric Blues, New Orleans Funk, old school shuffles and a growing set of their own material, do not expect the expected! Harbourside regulars will be familiar with singer/guitarist Neil Partington, who has also played at the club with Supercharge. The rest of the
band members, Paul Starkey (Guitar), Glen Lewis (Keyboards) and Nick Lauro (Drums) will be joined in Steve's absence by Bill Price on Bass Guitar.

Also performing on the evening is special guest, 'Blues Boy Dan', performing his set of solo acoustic Blues numbers.  One of the highlights of this year's Worthenbury Festival, Dan possesses a huge blues voice and maturity that defies his age.

Liverpool Marina is situated at Coburg Wharf, Sefton Street, Liverpool L3 4BP. Tickets for the night are £8.00, obtainable from Budget Tyres & Exhausts, 330 Smithdown Road, Liverpool, L15 5AJ, Tel: 0151 735 1398 or Neil on 0774 818 2722 or John Welsh on 0151 428 2855.
