At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

The company I work for is organising a charity event, a bit like Strictly Come Dancing (UK) and Dancing with Stars (USA), in aid of Alzheimer's Society, and I'm very excited (and nervous) to be one of the contestants to dance in front of 500 colleagues.

I'll be doing the foxtrot in this event, to be held on 19th Jan 2012, in memory of my maternal grandma. Whilst both my parents went to work, she was the one who took care of me and my elder sister, eg seeing me off to school each day, cooking for me, and buying my first piano. Like most people with Alzheimer's & dementia, her condition declined gradually when I was in the UK, and I wished I could've spend more time with her.

Thanks for sponsoring me, and wish me luck!
