My story

 
We DID it!!! We cycled 350 miles from Portsmouth to Paris over six days in aid of HELP for HEROES.

We would also like to thank THALES UK FOR SPONSORING US BY DONATING £6000.00 to Help for Heroes - this has helped us almost reach our target   Thanks to Lady Cobham who donated £100.


It really was a tough challenge.  It was like joining Army bootcamp for a week.  I really don't know how they do it.  We wouldn't last a week in the real Army.  Up at the crack of dawn every day.  With just a few hours sleep (they do like a party!).  And then on your bike before 7am every day to pedal like fury up what felt like mount Everest.  In the rain!!  But it was fun.  And it really is for a great cause.  We met some fantastic people along the way.  A lot of them reminding us why we were there in the first place.  We are proud that we managed to do it.  But have no fear - we won't be knocking on your door anytime soon to sponsor us again!! Thank you .xx

Why we did it!!

We took part in this madness because we believe that we need to show our wounded servicemen that we appreciate the sacrifices they make in their service to this country. They deserve the best care that money can buy and we hope that by doing this bike ride that we have, with your help, contributed towards this cost.

H4H is a fantastic charity which provides support and facilities to servicemen and women who have suffered both mental and physical ill health through service to their country. For example, through building a specialist gym and swimming pool at the rehabilitation centre.

PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY. This is also a personal challenge for me (Frances) after a few years of ill health.

Having discovered she is expecting her first child, Joanne will no longer be able to take part in this bike ride, but will continue with the fund raising efforts in other ways.   Congratulations to Joanne and Ade!! We know you are still supporting us!!
