London Triathlon 2008 · 9 August 2008 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday morning at 6.59am, I'll be bobbing in the water of Docklands waiting for the start of The London Triathlon with 400 other wetsuit wearing wannabees.  By 0701 I'll be thrashing through a sea of bodies at the start of a 1.5km swim as a warm-up for a 40k bike and 10k run.  All being well the pain will be over after 2 hours 40 minutes.

I hadn't planned on racing for charity but decided to in recognition of my Dad's support and encouragement; a former club runner, he was diagnosed with MND in 2001 and has received lots of support from the MND Association.  I feel privileged to be able to take part in an event like this so I'm looking for sponsorship in support of all those who would love to, but can't.

Donating through Justgiving is easy, The Motor Neurone Disease Association gets your money fast and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid plus a 3% supplement are added to your donation.

Please make any donation you can.  Thanks.

Francis
