Transaid is an international development charity that seeks to reduce poverty and improve quality of life through providing better access to essential services such as healthcare, education and economic opportunities in Africa and across the developing world. By working with the European transport and logistics industry, Transaid builds local skills and knowledge within the transport sector to make transport cheaper, safer, cleaner and more effective.

My story

Dear Friends,

On the 16th My I returned form Zambia having completed the Transaid 420km cycle challange from Lusaka to the Vctoria Falls in Livingston. This was the first time a challange like this has been staged in Zambiaand I hope that it will be the first of many.

Traveling through some very remote areas in Zambia we saw first hand how schemes such as the Transaid "Zambulance" (a stretcher on wheels pulled behind a bicycle ) can really make a difference to a communities miles from the nearest medical centre.

As a group we haver raised over £90k which will help Transaid continue its very worthwhile work.
