Aug 8th, Dulwich London Hi, We did all make it if you were still wondering; to the surprise of many people; including some of the event organisers. My hands are still numb. THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE. WHETHER LARGE OR SMALL, EVERYTHING GRATEFULLY RECEIVED. Please do what you can. Fondest regards to all Frank ** July 7th & before ** Just back from Paris, still shocked to realise I actually got there under my own pedal power. Not without the help, organisation & enthusiastic bike repairs of a great support team: thanks to Dominic & all of you. Some very charming, good-natured & decent people who rode along with me need to give me their links so I can share their charity pages with everyone I pester. THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE. WHETHER LARGE OR SMALL, EVERYTHING GRATEFULLY RECEIVED. Please do what you can. Finally, congrats to my wife Angie & her friends who did the 10k run while we were away. Love to all Frank ** Original message below ** Hi there Saving Faces, Losing Lard Mad as it may sound, I am now in training for the London-Paris cycle ride in early July. This consists of 4 days & 300 miles of hilly cycling through the countryside of Kent & Northern France. I am doing this for the Saving Faces charity (see left). My interest in this charity & facial surgery in general is quite personal. Some 8/9 years ago I had to undergo a number of operations, as a result of a recurrent tumour in my (upper left) jaw; culminating in a 20-hour marathon for a very dedicated & talented surgeon who removed the offending jawbone. These efforts were remarkably successful and no-one who meets me now would notice. On another level, I now feel I owe it to all the wonderful people who nursed & helped me through that difficult period, as well as my ever-patient, long-suffering family; to lead as full & healthy a life as possible. Hence I am hoping the training regime will dissolve the fatty substances collected around my middle; & turn me back once more into the 'handsome prince' Angie once knew. If you feel you can donate, whether small or large any donation is hugely appreciated. Frank Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Facial Surgery Research Foundation - Saving Faces will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
