Frankies Wiltshire 100

My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2020 · 16 August 2020 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2015 I travelled to India to take part in a charity trek for Bath RUH. In 2018 I walked a marathon raising funds for Alzheimer's Society. In September 2020 I turn 30 and so I decided to set myself a new challenge for my 30th year. As the Ride London is cancelled I am now riding Frankie's Wiltshire 100, 100 miles around Wiltshire (eeek!). Now apart from the odd ride along the canal I am no cyclist! So I will be training hard - any offers of joining me for training rides are most welcome!
Cancer is shit (sorry if the language offends but it is). It has ripped through my family over the last 10 years and continues to try to. My auntie Gill sadly lost her long battle with cancer last year, after years of gruelling treatments and procedures. My Auntie Kate is currently fighting her own battle with it as are members of my extended family. Through my work at Royal United Hospital Bath as Musician in Residence and as a visiting musician at Salisbury District Hospital, I have sung for children going through cancer treatment, I have sung for adults going through treatment, I have sung for people during their final days on this earth due to cancer and I have sung at weddings that have been hurriedly organised because of cancer. I have seen cancer and it is shit. I have chosen to raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research because ultimately we need a cure and thats what the scientists there are trying to find.
