The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Story

180 miles in 24 hours?

My great mate Henry O'Lone was diagnosed with Bone Cancer almost 6 years ago. The type of Bone Cancer he had was known as Osteosarcoma and is extremely rare with only 200 cases diagnosed each year.

Fortunately Henry is still with us but only after a very traumatic time and losing his right arm. Unfortunately, almost 50% of those diagnosed do not survive and this is why I want to raise some £££ to help improve awarenss, fund research and help more patients fight this horrible cancer.

Besides, it's about time I did something useful (many of you will agree)!

.... So my challenge is to cycle 180 miles from London to Lincolnshire in 24 hours! It will be a proper mission and tough cycling through the night (I am told it is all up hill!)

All proceeds raised will go to The Bone Cancer Research Trust, a charity providing funding for reasearch into primary bone cancer, support to patients and raising awareness (amazingly I'd never heard of Bone Cancer until Henry had it).

I will be leaving London 7pm Friday 20th April and hopefully arrive North Lincolnshire by 7pm Saturday 21st April in time for steak and chips.

If you can help me reach my target of £2,000 that would be amazing.

Thank you all!

Freddie

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
