Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
I am cycling from Lands' End to John O'Groats, starting on Thursday, 18th May. I will complete the ride in memory of my mum, who passed away unexpectedly 3 days before Christmas, aged 58 and only 6 weeks after taking her retirement.
The ride is 960 miles odd, and will be a time for reflection, a time for remembering and a time to appreciate the beauty across the breadth of the British Isles. I'm not taking the shortest route and therefore not concerned about records, but I am hoping to complete the ride in under 3 weeks. I will be cycling solo, unassisted and carrying everything I need on the bike, and for those who are wondering, I have had my bike for 2 months and managed 3 practice cycles so this could be interesting...
I have chosen to support the Dreams Come True charity with this challenge, which gives seriously or terminally ill children the chance to live their dreams, and to do something fantastic which they otherwise wouldn't get the opportunity to do. Your support is very gratefully received, and will help make someone's dream come true.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Dreams Come True Charity will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support; please donate generously, if for no other reason than out of sympathy for my rear which will undoubtedly be taking the brunt of the pain!
Cheers,
Fred.
