Story

Between 11 and 16 October 2011 I took on the challenge of my life and danced for 135 hours 15 minutes to set a new world record for the world's longest ever dance. It was both the most amazing and and the most terrible experience I've ever gone through - thousands of people came to join me (check out the finale video here) and the music was amazing, but I did end up in A&E suffering from exhaustion and destroyed balloon-type legs, and I went slightly mad as I danced on - the sleep deprivation was something I'd never wish on anyone, ever.

I was doing it all to raise funds to open people's eyes to the situation there through my charity LearnBurma - via campaigns like Free to Dance (there WILL be more in future!), teacher training and directly linking schools in the UK with those in and around Burma.

Aung San Suu Kyi has asked us to 'please use your liberty to promote ours'. Free to Dance is trying to do this - using dance as a symbol of what so many have but which those in Burma don't, and getting thousands of people to stand up and do something positive, unique and fun for the country.

Thanks for donating, and if you'd like to stay in the Free to Dance loop and receive news of next year's adventure click here to receive our regular e-newsletter.

Best wishes,
